Licensed

A reading guide that glides along every line.

GlideMark draws one band that grows as you read. Its edge is always where you are, across spaces, punctuation and line breaks.

Part of the $19 lifetime license. You can try it on this page first.

Sunlight moved across the desk while the report stayed open. Page nine, page ten, a table of figures, another table. The words were all there and none of them stayed. The next paragraph began the same way the last one had, and you followed it with your eyes and nothing else.

Press GlideMark on the toolbar to try it.

Long lines are easy to lose halfway across

At the end of a line your eyes have to find the start of the next one. GlideMark gives them an edge to follow, so the jump back is easier to make.

What you get

One band that only grows

The highlight or underline runs from the start to where you are and never erases behind itself. It covers every letter, space and punctuation mark as a smooth wipe, with no blinking between steps.

It doesn't touch the page

GlideMark uses the browser's CSS Custom Highlight API, so it changes none of the page's markup. Stopping removes one highlight and one style.

Highlight or underline

Choose a filled band, or a thin line that runs under the text.

Seven colours, or your own

Blue, green, yellow, purple, pink, teal and orange, or any custom colour. The default is the soft apricot.

Start from where you are

Click the page to set where the band begins. The arrow keys nudge it by about a word.

Questions about GlideMark

Which pacer should I use?

GlideMark is the smoothest and the least intrusive. Cadence is better if you want to see exactly which words are next. Autopace is for when you want one word and nothing else. The table on this page compares them.

Does GlideMark work in my browser?

Skimora is a Chrome extension. GlideMark uses the CSS Custom Highlight API, which is built into every version of Chrome that Skimora supports (147 and later).

Is GlideMark free?

GlideMark is part of the lifetime license. You can try it on this page first.
