A long paragraph is a wall. Somewhere in the middle of it your attention leaves, and your eyes keep travelling over words you are no longer taking in. Then you notice, and you go back to the start of the line, and the wall is a little taller than before.
The page's own font.
Some fonts make reading harder than it needs to be
A thin, tightly spaced or ornamental typeface costs effort on every line. Changing the font is the smallest change that can make a page easier to read.
What you get
Five choices
Original (the page's own font), Lexend, Atkinson Hyperlegible, OpenDyslexic and Comic Sans. The first three ship inside Skimora, so they work offline. Comic Sans is your computer's own copy.
Applied across the whole page
The font reaches shadow DOM and same-origin frames, and leaves code blocks and icon fonts alone so nothing breaks.
Who made them
Lexend was designed by educational therapist Bonnie Shaver-Troup and type designer Thomas Jockin to aid reading proficiency. Atkinson Hyperlegible was made by the Braille Institute for low-vision readers, so letters like 1, I and l never look alike. OpenDyslexic is an open-source typeface Abbie Gonzalez released in 2011. All three are released under the SIL Open Font License.
No claims, just a choice
Skimora doesn't say any font fixes a reading difficulty. Try each on a page you actually need to read and keep the one that feels easiest.

Questions about Reading fonts
Which font should I pick?
It is personal. Lexend and Atkinson Hyperlegible are good starting points for most readers. OpenDyslexic looks very different, and some people prefer it.
Do the fonts work offline?
Lexend, Atkinson Hyperlegible and OpenDyslexic are bundled with Skimora, so yes. Comic Sans depends on your computer having it.
Does it work with bionic reading?
Yes. Change the font, then turn bionic reading on. They stack.
